I've been toying with an idea in the past few days and thought it might be useful to post, see what this community think (although I'll probably give this a go anyway a little bit of 3rd party input might be useful). Basically its all about "BattleTech". The two sides would be the Inner Sphere and the Clans (not sure which in particular yet), but considering that much of the BT universe is somewhat similair to the way this game seems to be played out in theory its a good idea.

- Space combat would be done using the huge scale battleships and cruisers with such "fighter mechs" as the LAMS (Land Air Mech) and aerospace fighters. - Ground combat would be done using the many stylings of dropships that are around and primarily using battlemechs. - Structures would be simply those from the Battletech universe or as close as possible to them. - Vehicles are also likely to be included as well seeing as these do play a large part. - Human characters would not be present as in the course of things they would most likely be extremely small.

Finally, the proposed name for the project would be something along the lines of BattleTech: The Clan Wars

Anyway, thats the generalised idea anyway. I'll probably commence work shortly and see about getting one or two low poly models done ASAP.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but its still very early days. I've only just finished gathering a stack of high poly models as my reference materials, so its a matter of working through them, and seeing as I'm already heavily engaged in my last project for another game, this is one slow go at the moment.
