After reading the thread about porting, I have a problem to propose: Porting the other way is definately illegal, but I have reason to think that porting from EaW -> FoC shouldn't be illegal. Shouldn't it NOT be illegal, as if you have FoC, you have to have EaW to play it anyway! So therefore, you're just enabling something in FoC! (the only thing would be the campaign). If you're getting something you already have, its not illegal at all. I don't get why you people keep saying "porting is illegal" when porting one way is while porting the other way seems perfectly logical to do. besides, FoC should have enabled you to play as rebellion or empire in the campaign in the first place... Why is it illegal? THINK PEOPLE THINK! I belive this proves a valid reason. If you lock this thread without reasoning, I will continue to make new ones. If you ban me I will renew my IP and make new accounts. Thanks, I don't want to have to resort to that but this is a valid concern and I need to have the ansewers. Thank you.
... i have a model porting program i dled..... idk where tho but i only use it for private use, its not illegal if u use it for private use
well you have a point, i guess if you word it "that" way then all your doing is, doing what you said but, eh whatever
My very thoughts exactly.
FoC requires EaW to work anyway, so porting campaigns from EaW shouldn't be a problem.
yes exactily
The campaign is actually written into the Hardcode of the .exe not just in the XML. The EAW Campaign assets are not part of the Forces of Corruption .exe, nor do they form part of the overall assets in the .megs.
So you cannot port the campaigns. It IS in all facts Illegal as it requires someone to break the EULA to do it.
As I closed the previous topic.
This is an Official Warning to stop pressing the point.
