Does anyone know how to add ships the the intro screen when the game starts? (you know the one where the music starts and all the ships are around the space station shooting at each other)
I've posted the answer to this yesterday, just look around
I searched and couldnt find it, why didnt you just link it? anyways does anyone have the answer that doesnt want to send me on a wild goose chase

mobbmann. Its a map based file. What you need to do is create a new space based map which is fairly small and has your desired ships on it so they are close enough for AI based combat. This file then goes in your DATA\ART\MAPS subfolder. For example. In the BSGCW mod I'm using one called: Demo_Attract_BSG.ted
Once your map is made, named and placed in the correct folder open GAMECONSTANTS.XML file and look for this:
Look a little bit further down until you see:
This is the entry I use for the BSG mod:
You can then use the named map you've made. I think this also works for small land based maps but I've not tried it yet.
i just got a slight question about this: once the unit is destroyed how owuld u get the AI to hyper in another one so its continous combat?
I've always wondered this also, it might be LUA though..
um yeah how exactly do you get new ships to spawn in? I'd settle with just modding the original file... actually i just got an idea. anyways, let me know if you know how to make it so ships keep spawning.
Ok I figured it out. its where payne said the file was and the xml sends you to a map in your map folder. once there you open it, and just use the map editor to put whatever ships you want in. There is one small note though, it wont load all your ships if the info is in the mod folder, you have to manually drop them into the gamedata/data folder so the map editor sees all the new ships, that goes for alo files, sound files, anything your mod might use. once you get it set up, test your map file by firing up the game, if you like what you see drop it into your mod and voila, just have to pick a star wars song I like now to go with the cinematic.
Or choose something entirely different that still makes it epic :lookaround:
