Hello,

First of all, I'm quite new to modding in EAW, and i've passed the last 10 hours trying to do something...I've searched the internet, the forums, google, but i found nothing. So, please, help me (ObiWan Kenobi, you're my only hope!)!

I need a step by step explication on how to incorporate a custom model, textured etc... in game. I've downloaded the model of the munificient frigate, and i'm trying to put it in game. Also, i'd like to know how i can delete ships from the game? For example: if i want to replace the Nebulon B frigate by the munificient? (In fact, i'm trying to replace the Empire by the Oldrep, and the Consortium by the CIS, so i don't want anylonger the star destroyers etc...And i'd like to to remove the rebelion, but i think that's easily done my creating my own galactic conquest map.)

It would be VERY usefull if you could help me doing this manipulation.

Here what i have already done: Edited the starbases, hardpoints, spaceunitscapital (and similar) .xml files, created my folder "clonewars" with models and textures.

I've look inside Z3r0x and return of the clones files to understand what they have done to put the models in game, but without success :(. My game crashes when I start it...

So, please, if you could just let me know how to incorporate a custom model, which files to modify for it appears ingame. (And i'm wondering, once that done, will the AI use it?)

P.S: Sorry for my english, i guess it's not perfect, but still understandable :P.

hmm, If you did want to use this mods instead, there are alot of them.....?? It crashes you say? Well then, what kind of computer do you have and how do you install your mods?

Well, i guess my computer is not the problem as it is powerful (running Crysis almost at everything high).

To tell the truth, i think i've done no good at all, or, a lot of things are still missing.

All i have done is copying code (?) from different clone war units and incorporating them into the hardpoints, hardpoint_underworld, spaceunitscapitals /fighters /frigates /corvettes, starbases and starbase_underworld .xml. At the same time i have removed the original space units code in the spaceunits and starbases .xml

I have modified the "affiliation" of some units. Then, i have copied the models and textures to suit the units into the right folders.

(everything is done on a fresh extraction of the config.meg) Finally, when i start the game while loading my mod, when the splashscreen should come up, the game crashes. I think this is due to the fact that i've removed the original units code from the spaceunits.xml files. That's why i want to start from scratch again, and need a real tutorial:P.

P.S: I'm french ;)

Ah, well so you dont have to use the translator, here you go.... (I helps I gues so you can understand better) D'abord si vous installez un mod, vous devez faire une chemise mod dans game-data/la chemise de données. Placez alors tous les dossiers du mod dans cette chemise, après que cela va reçoivent le coureur mod et l'utilisation que diriger votre mods. J'essaie aussi d'ajouter dans de nouvelles unités, j'essaie de faire des différents types de l'À - À, un Mk. Je Mk. II et Mk. III types où chaque dose autre chose. J'espère que c'est mieux pour vous de lire, provoquer des traducteurs peut être une douleur. There you go, hope that dosen't break any rules? ( it really is french)
