Hi everyone, I read through the entire modding tutorial thread, the posts still listed and did a search for a while and did not find what I wanted, so here goes..

I noticed that on capital ships they can receive unique names from a preset list located in the GameData\Data folder. They are simple text documents that are just a list of names. I have tested that these are actually doing what I think they do by making a backup and deleting all the names from the Nebulon-B list and replacing it with just one, and it worked. Ok so having said that, I modded in a ship and it is functioning, but just for completion I was hoping to be able to get them named like the other ships. Does anyone know exactly what line of code is the one that governs that? I tried comparing the ship I modded in and the Nebulon-B code and they seem identical. I strongly suspect that it is right under my nose and I am just not seeing it.

Which XML is the code for the Imperial Tech Level costs located in? I want to make the cost a higher to make it harder. I the slice costs for the ground and space vehicles are the ones that control the Rebellion's acquisition of units, which I have promptly raised but am still waiting to test.

the name changing is the same, all are exactly the same, if you mean to change the text document like, "the nebulon is an average blah blah blah...." than you need a certain editor. but if your just changing names, ignore the previous sentence then

I noticed that in the xmls for units (i.e. things like spaceunitsfrigates.xml) there is a line that looks like this

Alliance_Assault_Frigate.txt

I think that controls what document the names come from, but so far my attempts at naming units by creating .txt documents then adding the names of those documents in for the moniker line of the unit I created hasn't worked, I might have just misspelled some of the document names and then not noticed the ones that are actually used. On a seperate topic, the edit button no longer appears for either of my posts in the thread I made recently about recusant models, do any of you know why this might be?

Well now that I know how to do naming, I need some suggestions for names for the lucrehulk, munificent, dreadnaught (or dreadnought if you spell it that way), and providence (i'm making a mod with all of those ships in it.)
