i already searched the forum for the answers but nothing came up, so i will ask. i have tried and tried to get the v wing and venator to be buildable for the rebels, as the acclamator is lonely, but every tim i try, i go wrong, i try to add them to starting units, but i think something goes wrong, but thats prbably becaus i mess with things beforehand. i can get the v wings to launch from acclamators i believe, but adding them to buildables illudes me, can you be of help?

copy the squadron and unit of a certain unit and change that to the specific things u want. srry, im tired. im not talking good.

arent they in the uniques files? if they are make them playable in conquest

i know where they are, i edit them, they dont have build time and cost things, and no starbase requirements, and when i add them it does nothing, anybody have steps to add the ships.

basically do what Darksaber said

for the V-Wing, copy the XML file for another fighter squadron (lets say X-Wings) in Spaceunitsfighters.xml and Squadrons.xml, then change all relevant information (model name, icon name, squadron units,etc) to that of the V-Wing. Be sure to comment out or delete the stock V-Wing data so you dont get two in skirmish.

Do the same thing for the Venator, using the base data of something like a Vic in Spaceunitsfrigates.xml. Remember to copy the hardpoints for this one.

I probably shouldnt need to say this, but back up any files you're editing in case you mess something up

hmmm could u just copy the name of the ship/fighter and but it in the starbase xml?

yes but that is skirmish, look on the ground of a planet you should be able to build them at. when i added the venator it was buildable on land, same for the pirate frigate. but they appear in space once built.

off topic: its really easy to add the venator and the v-wing. im making a really small mini-mod that adds some of the easter eggs (that have models) to be buildable. I cant do it now because my computer is dying and i cant edit the xml cause it like just quits on me. So, im getting a new computer (a gaming on hehehehe) and once i get it, i can do xml again. on topic: just do what me and mclane did and ure there.

is there no simpler way? i am a very impatiant 14 year old. do the ships still work right if i add them to starting units at a base?
