let me get straight to the point,

My computer rejects every max 8 key I enter to it, all is invalid, from my keygen, others' keygen or other ways. Now I tried max 9, which works and I made myself a I think fine model. Simple rigging is possible, importing alo doesn't work, exporter nowhere to be found and forget about proxies and all that good stuff.

Now as I said max 8 refuses to work for me, max 6 seems to work with alo but I haven't tried that and I'd really like to get 9 to work. I have both win 7 64 bit on my comp aswell as the good old win xp, I'd prefer to get max working on 7, though xp will be fine aswell.

Now the question, how do I get max 9 to work with the correct exporter, alo tooks and all that? From what I've tried I'm screwed, then again I'm not an experienced max user.

o boy your about to get the banhammer big time, when you said keygen that means 1 word torrented.

but anyways i'll try and help you before you get banned,3ds max 9 version of alo importer/exporter works, i have 3ds max 9 32bit fully patched and windows 7 64bit and i have only 1 problem with it that doesn't affect it's usage it only resets the shader/texture paths you input,

make sure your using the right exporter as well, the 3ds max 9 version was made to work with UAW but 100% works with FOC, i extract models from 9 all the time and don't have a problem so maybe go to autodesk and hunt for the 3ds max 9 patchs and install all of them

Thanks, I have to say I haven't tried the UAW exporter, I thought it was a totally different alo format. Well alo is alo but I figured there'd be a difference in UAW and EAW.

About the banhammer thingy, I'm sorry but I do not have 300 bucks to spend on max software, or a new chair, or a keybord, or snacks for that matter. That's all I can say about it that might affect the admin who's obviously going to look at this. EDIT: Infact, while looking at the autodesk site, I saw numbers that went over 1000. I'm sorry but that's a little...to much for my hobby, even if I had the money.

Who's going to spend $1000+ on a software program that they know how to use and are not going to be selling anything by using it, and are using it for recreation and fun or as a hobby instead?

autodesk is giving away 3ds max/3ds max design for free on their website Autodesk Education Community not sure if 9 is in there but they only give you a 3 to 5 year license but that should be long enough for anyone that is into modding
