uh sry AoE = Aorea of effect, but in the code its blast area damage, slip of the tounge used to saying AoE due to playing, not moding lol, ok i got to work somewhat, like the projectile well hit a ship say a hardpoint on the the calamari cruiser and damage it but well not damage the other hardpoints, and it well damage every other ship.

Ive never got aoe to work myself . i made the eclipses superlaser into a projectile but it vaporized every thing except the ship it hits :P . try looking at the hypervelocity gun code

Yea i got the same problem it well destroy everything but the ship it hits. I dont know what else to try. :bawl:

yeah the aoe effect is kinda buggy. i remember once i had a hyper-v-gun that damaged more than one hardpoint. but dunno how i did this :P

Well i have done some more tickering and i have a good idea how to fix this i well test it and post it if it works. ;)

I made anti-fighter AOE missiles and i used this coding:

True5100200

i think you're missing the blast_area_dropoff = true and tiers lines, i don't know if they're necessary but my AOE projectiles work as intended. I didn't use damage=0 like you have though, as i wanted the most damage to be incurred at the centre of the explosion.

hope this helps.

edit: i just realised it LOOKS like you're trying to make an AOE hypervelocity gun. All i can say on that is that editing the special weapons usually gives unusual or zero effect. I once tried to make the ion cannon do some damage as well as bringing down shields, and it would always either just do it's regular thing with zero physical damage, or obliterate the ship in one shot.

I don't think that AoE damage can affect multiple hardpoints. For example, the plasma cannon. When it hits a shit, it obliterates anything nearby, fighters, mines, small ships, but it only damages one hardpoint. I think it's a limitation of the game engine.

Ahh yes i see what you did there, also i found out that i have to change the projectile catorgy as well and now it works fine. Now the Aoe works as intened. great help guys. :D
