I start this new thread to discuss the idea from if is realistic let to ISD and other big ships flying on planes as Bespin or Ithor.
I think that ISD can not flight on atmosphere and there is nothing official on Lucasarts telling it.
I found it subrealistic.
i dont know if a ship larger than 1,137 (venator)metres couldnt fly on a planet or couldnt land. i mean there are pictures on wookieepedia or a ISD flying over a city in Naboo
realisticly it might be able to, but there would probably have to be some huge repulserlift engines on the bottom to keep it from crashing down due to gravity, unless the isd's engines provide some form of antigravity
why was the venator able to? did it have repulsorlift as well, or wa it just streamlined? Planet size would matter. A grain of dust has a gravitational pull. Tiny planets (maybe like kessel its irregularity implies its a planetoid) so i imagine planets like kessel coul d easily have a ISD fly over it.
well, looking at the models, both seem to be fairly aerodynamic, however the venator was lighter, and just by looking at it, it just looks like it would land and fly better than the isd would
yeah the ISD was a wedge. as i alluded to last post, the size of the plenet varies. planetoids like kessel could probably have a ISD flying over it, then again, Kessel barely had an atmosphere.
meh, isd can be in the atmosphere, force unleseashed trailer is proof
was that the ISD over naboo or the ISD being pulled down by the force? the force thing is simply proofless.
offtopic: i'm not a big fan of force unleseashed, it's a little too EU for my tastes back on topic: from what i've seen before it seems that it was pulled down by the force
same but i assume he meant something else, since thats not good proof. the ISD would need great engines. The mon cal had better engines, but i dont beliieve it would be better suited in an atmosphere.
