Hi. I've tried looking everywhere, and I can't find an answer.

I want to add missiles to the Vipers in the current BSG mod. How would I code this, and where?

Also, less importantly, How would I remove Units from the mod?

Hi Chi, glad you made it over here :)

Okay to add missiles, you'll need to add hardpoints. First thing you do is go to where the Viper's coding is. In that coding, enter something like

HP_VIPER_MISSILE

Now open hardpoints.xml (or wherever the BSG unit hardpoint coding is). Find a unit that has the same sort of missiles you want to add to the Viper. Now copy and paste that section, and rename is from, say, 'Raptor_Hardpoint_01' to 'HP_Viper_Missile'.

You'll now need a program called the 'ALO Viewer'. It should be on empireatwar.filefront.com but I'm not sure. Anyway use it to look at the Viper model you want to add missiles to, and find the bones (how the unit is rigged) where you want the missiles to come out of. Note the names of the bones, and then change the fire_bones part in your new hardpoint coding and there you go :)
