Please write a tutorial on skinning EAW Models or show me where there is one. I've been looking for ages :uhm: . Or just tell me, and probably others, what to do in this thread.
I can do some coding and the basics of moddeling just need the skinning part. So i can actually start making stuff.

There's one in the sticky called "modding Tutorials" and if you're too lazy to go and look, http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php?topic=3461.0
I've already looked at that, I'm not that lazy. lol
I was thinking more of skinning an all new model, not just modding an exsisting one.
Anyone play SWG?

um...i think u have to apply a skin and use a shader to make the skin appear. You would either have Jasc Paint shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop CS 8 or some Adobe Photoshop

partly correct. Skins are applied with a shader in 3ds Max 6 or 8.
O right ok, cheers.
What i cant understand is how the 2D .dds file gets "molded" around the model witht the correct bits going in the correct places. Is that where the shaders come in?

Actually (and seeing as I've done this about 4 or 500 times), "skinning" which is correctly termed as "texturing" is done with a 3d modelling package. You'll find a good few tutorials for most of the main used packages. Now I know this isn't for EaW directly (although as has been stated you do need shaders for the actual conversion process), this might give you a place to start:
(the pricipals are exactly the same for most texture application)
Thanks!! actually know wot to do now. YAY!:D
