Hi, I'm using the Combat in Space mod V3 and want to replace the LOW SSD model with Bailknight's model - I'm alright with XML, but I don't know how to go about changing the model . . . is it a simple matter of saving Bailknight's model in place of the existing model and renaming the folder to make the XML files recognise it? This is for personal use BTW . . . Ta for any responses. :beer: :)

Just place the new model, death clone model and all its hardpoint breakoff chunks in the Art/Models folder and change the model name for the unit, it should be: EV_SSD.ALO Then change the death clone model name: EV_SSD_D.ALO Either copy/paste the hardpoint data from Bailknight's mod and replace the old data or do it manually, which is pretty time consuming. Easier to do the first option and tweak the values as you see fit, replace the hardpoints in the unit data to correspond with the new ones. That's just the basic way of doing it, if you want hardpoint breakoff chunks copy all the "Hardpoint_Breakoff_SSD" entries in the SpaceProps.XML into your current one.

(P.S I never knew Thomas the tank engine was a gangster, he seemed so innocent to me. You learn something new every day.)

Many people dont realise this when trying to take Bailknights SSD out and use it in their own mod. He uses his own projectiles. So in the hardpoints section you need to change the projectiles. Because on his turbolasers he has Proj_Ship_Turbo_Green_Heavy or something like that, which does not normaly exist. I had the same problem, and it was also the same in the SSD improved mod v3.1. So you have to change the Projectile to an existing one.:D As for the star Destroyer thing, I dont know.

Does anyone know the original names of the turbolaser projectiles? I'm trying to replace Bailknight's projectiles with the original projectiles and can't find the files to replace the current Proj_Ship_Turbolaser_Green_Heavy entry in the space for all turbolasers. All other projectiles work, but it's a bit annoying having fleet battles with ion cannon, laser cannon and missiles.

Proj_Ship_Turbolaser_Green, ironically enough. Although when I modded it into my game I made a completely new entry that increases the size and damage of the shots.

You can use my Proj_Ship_Turbolaser_SSD :) It's a larger green turbolaser projectile.
