I don't know how to edit xmls. I try to, but the files are too big to edit with anything but the xml editor, tried to with word pad because I've been able to mod ST Armada with notepad, but not EAW or FoC. I don't know how to model at all. I have trouble making maps. This frusterates me to no end because I have some great mod ideas. I know theres a tutorial somewhere, but I don't like it for some reason and in addition, I barely have enough time to make any mods anyway. So I was wondering if anyone would be willing to work with some concepts I had? They can take most of the credit if they want, I just want someone to try some of my ideas. Have to be a good modder, good enough to create new ships and new planets. I sound lazy, but its hard being in honors college, and these are some really good ideas. If anyone comes and answers that they are willing to see what I propose, I'll give them a summary. :deal:

Why can't you edit them with notepad? I can, and they're not too big for me.

They shouldn't be to big for notepad. What are you doing to open them?

I think I don't have enough ram or something like that. Armada was much easier to mod. Though the complexity is necesarry in this game I guess. It says something like exceeds 32 MB or 32KB or something like that. Microsoft word is even worse. I have Microsoft XML editor, but all it seems to do is open the xml file as a webpage, and the amount of data in the page is way too small to be the real xml file, judging from the amount of bytes each one has. The map editor I found was easy to use to a degree, but very easy to make a screwed up map if I left out just one tiny thing. Besides, I don't have time for trial and error on this thing. I was just wondering if someone might want to use my idea for a mod. I tried to make it, but all I could do was make the maps necessary. I don't know how to model, or skin, and I don't know how to make new units. Anyone interested?
