Ok so I just downloaded "Pirate Starfighters V1" and I cannot figure out how to get them to work ingame. So far, I've added their XML files into my game's XML folder, I've added their .ALO files into the Models folder, and I've added the .DDS files into the Textures folder. However, I can't figure out where to drop the Icon files (they are .TGA files). Where do these go? After all this is said and done, what lines of the XML's do I need to edit to actually get these fighters to work ingame?
Long-winded, I know, but I'm stumped and I'd appreciate some help.

You need to add the icon .tga with the MTD editor by Mike.nl
Alright I downloaded an MTD Editor, but I'm not sure what you mean by "add the icon." With the editor I can open up the icons, but how does that help with getting the game to read them?
A small Tutorial is in Order I think. 1. The Code - Open the GameObjectFiles.xml in your mod's xml folder. - Add the units xml filename to the list. - Open the HardPointDataFiles.xml in your mod's xml folder. - Add the units hardpoint xml filename to the list. 2. The icon - Open the MTD editor - Open MT_CoMMANDBAR.MTD in you mod's texture folder. - Open MT_CoMMANDBAR.TGAin you mod's texture folder. - In the menu select Edit -> insert file(s) and selct the units icon file - Save and exit. 3. The text - Open the Dat editor. - Open the MasterTextFile_englisch.dat in you mod's texture folder. - In the menu select Edit -> insert string. - At 'string name' put the string found in the units xml file after the tag (e.g. text_Unit_Dagger) - At 'text' put the units name (e.g. Dagger starfighter) - Again select Edit -> insert string. - At 'string name' put the string found in the units xml file after the tag (e.g. text_tooltip_Dagger) - At 'text' put the units description (e.g. Light starfighter favored by pirates) By the code in the xml the game now displays the texts and the icon in game. All done... I hope it hepls. P.S. The icons in pirate_starfigers are wrong. Use the ones attatched to this post.

You're welcome, I still forgot one thing. If you want the units in skirmich there is one more file to edit. -Open starbase_underworld.xml. -Go to -Finid the tag -Add the unit squadron name to the list (as found in the units xml e.g. Dagger_Starfighter_Squadron) -Don't forget the comma behind the units name -Repeat for starbase 2, 3, 4 and 5 The starbase numbers are the techlevels, so if you want a fighter to be available from tech 3 you only put the fighter name in the list of station 3, 4 and 5.

I'm trying to make the freefall bomber from the second pack a hero transport for my land hero in space The game keeps crashing when I enter space combat.
Now, I don't know if I put the hardpoints exactly where they should be. Or if I changed the code wrong. I based my code off of the montross hells anvil code. I'm at work, so I can't post code.
I'm wondering if I put hard points in wrong spot in hardpoints file. Or confused the game somehow with changing my uniqueunit to a hero ship.
Extra credit. Is it possible for the freefall to drop my hero off?

Hard to tell without the code. One possibility is a typo in the That would cause the game to crash. As for dropping of a hero, that's not possible without landing animation
I ll post code later tonight. But I think I got the model name right. I was thinking more I typed the attached to transport part wrong.
