Hi, Im pretty new to modeling, but I've been trying to get a model I've been working on into FoC. I have the model in 3DS Max 8 and exported it successfully to an ALO. This I can view in Alamo Object Viewer fine. There seem to be no issues there. So I added the ship to my XMLs (I've done a bit of that so I'm happy thats ok). Yet when I try and run the game it crashes before it even gets to the main screen. I read before doing the model that there was an issue on EaW and FoC with the fx files that 3DS Max uses and the the FXO files from shaders.meg were a work-around. So I used these files to make the model. This is the only thing that I can see that could cause the issue. Anyone know if this is the case? And if so how do I fix it? Thanks, J.

There is probably something wrong with the code.

Yeah, if there was something wrong with the model then you would probably get to the point of hyperspacing it in and getting an exception then. Code errors usually cause upon startup. (In my experiance anyways) --Alpha17

For the record.. people should no longer use the FXo file work around for max 8.. http://swgbex.com/Tools.html Read the 3ds max 8 section.. and you will find out how to allow max 8 to use standard Fx files.. AND to export animation correctly *FXO doesnt* *edit.. Read the max 8 EXPORTER section
