This is the culmination of a two-year long struggle to restore something I felt that LucasArts should have done itself and everyone else said was impossible

Thats right folks, the original EAW campaign - both Empire and Rebel versions - has been fully restored. Admittedly there are a few glitches - but considering that most of this was complete gobbily-gook back when I started, I must admit I am both exhausted... and impressed.

The main listed glitches are as follows

#1: The Fresia Mission to recover the X-Wings had to be completely removed - to complete that mission you must now conquer Fresia. A side-effect is that the Fresia holocron entry will remain even after you finish the mission though the campaign will continue

#2: Never ever EVER Under ANY conditions build the Imperial or Rebel version of the M.D.U - and if you must build it NEVER construct any of the weapons emplacements - the campaign and LUA's used by the game HATE these things and WILL crash

#3: Sometimes the Imperial Campaign will read itself as 'finished' after Yavin is destroyed - as far as I know this glitch was fixed. Unfortunately this glitch MIGHT still crop up so the 'what if' story of wiping out the Rebellion won't activate and the game will read the mission as completed after Yavin has been blown up. As far as I can tell this glitch is gone but it might still be there so watch out for it

#4: The Rebel Wayland Mission ALWAYS drops me to the desktop whenever I land a certain number of units - usually vehicles - and tells me that the there was an error. DO NOT close the game. Simply tell the message to go away, click on the EAW tab in your toolbar and it'll load back up from where you were. Oddly enough, the game always runs smoother when it does that... I'm not sure why but *shrug* since I couldn't fix it but it also wasn't game breaking I decided to ignore it - if it bothers too many people I'll remove the Wayland mission as I've done with the Fresia mission

#5: Red Squadron is STILL featured in this campaign - the coding needed to make it work is completely intact, strangely enough, but as a side-effect Luke was left out of the 'heros' who are spawned in the game. If this bothers enough people I'll put him back in as a land hero

#6: The text for each mission has been removed and I've been unable to restore it. When a mission starts but before a battle begins there is the 'loading' page where - once upon a time - there was information on what you were about to do as well as pictures of the mission map. Unfortunately, since that text is gone, it simply shows up as gobbly-gook. I gave up restoring this as all the attempts I made only made things worse

Now for the Features

#1: The campaign has been completely restored - every mission, every story and every planet from the original campaign

#2: Every hero from the FOC pack as well as the original game has been coded into the campaigns. You'll get Yoda when Dagobah is revealed, the Arc Hammer and Dark Troopers at tech level three for the Empire and so on

#3: All of the Expansion Planets have been coded into the campaign to help resolve the 'path' glitches where you couldn't reach certain planets.

#4: The Underworld is in this campaign alongside the pirates - both can be encountered though the Underworld can't be played

But who wants to hear my blather ? You want to see the files don't you ? Of COURSE you do ;) to install the files is fairly simple - just drag and drop into your DATA folder and boot the game up. Then go to the Galactic Conquest area and the new entry 'Main Galactic Campaign' will be there to play as the Rebel or the Empire

about the mdu problem, why not just make it a skirmish only unit?

Mobius13;4994052about the mdu problem, why not just make it a skirmish only unit?

The enemy AI doesn't have the code to build it itself and I've programed the planets not to have it in their rosters so its not a problem you don't run into the glitch unless you try to build the MDU and use its weapon emplacements during a mission

Its not something that happens in the rest of the game - only the original campaigns

How did you get the campaign LUA to be readable!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?? I've been trying but never found out how! Please tell me!

Like I said, two years worth of cutting and pasting from the original game and the expansion pack - using the source files from the EAW and FOC map editor

I seem to have a problem finishing the mon calamari mission of the empire campaign .I cant get to the planet because salucami isnt revealed .
