I'm wondering how to make sandbox campaigns storyless without having an error of some sort. I've narrowed it down to two things controlling it and I'm not sure what to replace with what. (trial and error aren't too appealing for me in this case) Here are the lines that I'm having questions about:
Sandbox_Equal_Footing 5 TEXT_CAMPAIGN_SINGLE_56 TEXT_CAMPAIGN_SINGLE_DESCRIPTION_56
The number 56, as far as I can tell, dictates what text is displayed for the GC campaign. So for a new campaign that I made, what do I write as the number and what do I write as the title? (I don't mind if it shows up as [MISSING]) Also, what does the Sort_Order line mean?
Here I see the number 56 again, which tells what storyline to follow etc. what do I replace this number with for no story? Or do I leave the line blank like this:
Also, I don't think I did this and haven't tested it yet, but what happens if I accidentally place two starbases over one planet?
You can write whatever you want as the title, just as long as it matches up with the text that you want there.
Sort_Order I assume means how far that campaign is from the top when you open the GC menu. So if Sort_order = 1, then it would be the first listed.
As for the story plots, all that defines is at what point the heroes are spawned. So if you leave it blank, you won't get any heroes.
so how do i enable all heroes without the missions the story would give me? as for the sort_order, all campaigns that were already made said "5"
The hero release has nothing to do with the story. Exactly what story are you trying to disable anyway?
#56 is the equal footing campaign in the .dat text file. I am personalizing a campaign for AotR 2.0, since the ones that came with it weren't exactly to my liking.
Well as I said, the 'story_plots' just relates to hero release - so at tech 1, tech 2 etc.
thanks. Do you know anything about the other questions? like in this case, how do I disable the missions? or will changing the tech level to max change all of that for me?
Well in normal GC there are no missions.
those random events you have that are usually in an order?
Random events only work in normal EaW, not FoC. I'm actually trying to re-enable them at the moment.
