ive been wondering.... does anyone know how to make new fresh harpoints? i dont mean like edit existing ones, i know how to do that i mean i change laser cannons to turbolaser. what im asking for is how to make new hardpoints and add them to ships EX: the aggressor class has the special weapons and two turbolaser. i want to add 2 mass drivers..

You have to open the unit's model with 3Ds Max, and add new bones.

No offense man :uhm: but if you don't know what is the 3ds Max better try some mods But I'll explain 3ds max is 3D graphic software, game files are usually located at the .big files (kinda zip for EAW) you must extract them then import to Max, add "bone" and Export then edit the .xml files to add Mass Driver to that bone. So it's nothing easy but if you will be trying you will figure it by time just dont forget backup files you modified.

And one question what object should I use in Max to game would recognize it as bone ??

but its a .MEG file. how do you open those? and were do i get 3Ds Max?:confused:

meg file extractor could be found there http://alpha1.dyns.net/eaw/ same as .alo importer/exporter 3ds max 8 isn't free and i think it's not available to dl anymore

If you find it, don't mention it. I got a warning for it once.

Oh, and on that site is also the .alo viewer. .alo files are the model files that EaW and FoC use. You can view the bones with it. Some models such as the Agressor have unused bones, such as an tractor beam, which Petroglyph removed at the end be4 release.

I've got question what object in 3ds Max (box, dummy, bone) have to use, so the game would recognize it as bone :confused: And how to create a gun mount ?? I've a model how to add there weapons, shield genereators, engines etc.

What do you mean with that? Do you get an error or something?
