Hey guys. It's been a REALLY long time since I've come back to this place. Now, I have a question that has been bugging me for quite some time. What is the what is the limit for hard points? I say thing becuase I seriously don't like the "4 turbolasers, 2 Ion cannons, and 1 tractor beam" kind of thing. I want my ship to be literally unstopable. Here is an example on one of my favorite ships. The Venator. EAW Venator(Please correct me if I'm wrong) - 4 turbo laser hard ponts, and two 2 Ion cannon hard points. Real Venator - 8 DBY-827 Heavy dual turbolaser turrets, 2 medium dual turbolaser cannons, 52 point-defense dural laser cannons or turbolasers and 4 heavy proton topedo tubes. Instead of the ships shooting a large, ugly volley from each of the 52 HPs, I would suggest that the cannons each have a varied cool down time. Like some of the cannons can have a cool down of 3 seconds, while others have a cool down of 5. Please let me know if this can work. -Pony

Take a look at Phoenix Rising models. Their models are rigged with a lot of hardpoints. hundreds even in the case of the executor. There is no limit to how many you can add. But things might get laggy when all the guns fire at once.
