How would you create an icon on the unit bar? Such as a X-Wing button to click to buy a X-Wing squadron? the file is a .tga file but how would i make one? I want to change most of the icons to buy units and make some of my own for other units. What files would i need to get to make one?

Well, you need some kind of image editing program to open them and to do what you want with. If you don't have anything that can edit tgas than get paint.NET which is free and a lot easier to us than gimp. If you don't have the .NET framework or not sure if you already have it there is a link on there somewhere to get it.

I make icons all the time, first open the model of the unit your creating an icon for, then change the background color to something very, very different than any color on the model (i use the same yellow as the bones), get the model in a nice-looking position with the alo viewer very large, press print scr, open paint.net, click edit then paste, choose expand canvas, use rectangle select to get just the unit, click edit then copy while what you want is selected, use rectangle select again to delete everything, click edit then paste, image then crop to selection, use the magic wand tool to select the background from the alo viewer, delete it, click image then resize and change it to 50 and 50 pixels, save as .tga with no spaces in its name, use mtdeditor to open mt_commandbar, go to edit then insert file(s) and find the tga file you want for the icon. To all you noobs out there please NEVER again name a thread How do you...? or some other ultra-vague incomplete question, name them so we know what you want before we click on the link.
