Hi i just wanted to know how to make a unit have not team colors so it isn't a solid brown person running around i remember seeing in the ORAW mod that the patrol cruiser has no team colors, but in the ALO viewer you could select them.

Please help!

change the no coloration line in the xml (i think you need to change it to 255,255,255,255, but I can't remember for sure).

There's two solutions I can think of:

1) Set the line to the color you want it to be. But this may only be single player. If it is...

2) Convert the texture to a different file type, then open it in any image-editing software that can edit alpha channels. Simply open the alpha channel and make everything black in the channel.

In Galactic Conquest there's a line of code that can set a unit's team colors to any RGB color you put in, but I'd assume you're talking about removing team colors altogether. The team colors on most units are controlled by the alpha channel of the unit's skin. In order to change which parts of the skin show up as team color, you need to edit the alpha channel. White on the alpha channel means player colors, black means none. Your skins in question probably have an all white alpha channel. In Photoshop you'll find it under the 'channels' tab (next to the 'layers' tab) underneath RGB, Red, Green, and Blue. I have no idea how to edit alpha channels with any other software. (GIMP, paint shop pro, etc.) EDIT: Ninja'd by Sith of Steel. He even described it much better.

According to someone else (I forget who) GIMP can now edit alpha channels as well. I am not familiar with this feature in GIMP, though.

you see i don't want to use any texture editor, i just want to make the unit have no team colors in game using the XML like the ORAW mod did.

In that case you should use the no colorization color line as posted above. Just remember that it won't affect skirmish.
