swgbex didn't go over how to create a good EAW mod though, and how to add stuff in 3D Studio like a collision mesh, ect. I think thats what they mean by "making a ship step by step".

collision meshes ARE covered in swgbex's tutorial i also recommend going to www.proclone.net for some good low poly modeling tuts and good skinning tips and UVing
