Hey guys, new to editing maps. I start out by adding the spawn positions, command centers, then building some interesting obsticles, neutral zones, rocks, trees, create the weather and everything is fine save for one detail. When I start the map in skirmish if i've created a small base, everything is blown up, i put the initial health to max and still the same results, it actually does this in the editor as well, is there a way around this or is that how its supposed to be. Thanks so much guys. (Note: I downloaded a third party map and things were blown up in the editors point of view but when you use the map things are fine.) Nate

If it is a skirmish map you are making you will need the necessary markers. If you look under "Markers" in the map editor you will see things like: Player_1_Start_Postition or something like that. You need to place those markers for each respective player. I am not sure what the markers are called exactly because so far I have only made maps for GCs. I hope that helps some what. Someone else could probably explain it better though.

thanks, I have placed both markers such as (player 0 spawn, player 0 position and player 1 spawn player 1 postion respectively near the bases) The problem is the bases, turrets, etc. are destroyed when I begin to play. Is it part of the game to start building them or is it something I can change in the editor. The real question is can I fix the objects so they aren't destroyed at the beginning of the battle. thanks, Nate

Alright, I figured it out. Look under "Multiplayerstructuremarkers" and you'll find things like"Team_00_Barracks". So get rid of the old structures and replace them with their respective team structure and ignore the fact that they are rebel buildings, they are just used as a template. Also be sure the markers are neutral so that any faction can use any of the bases. That should about do it, tell me if you have any more problems.

I can't seem to find "multiplayer" markers. I am using the map editor and EAW 1.5 but not FOC if that makes a difference.

Got it.....in the starting object box, I needed to drop down so the X Build Site was active (Command Build Site, Mining Build Site) etc. I had the other buildings as just "None". For some reason that took care of it lol. I still am having trouble though with creating "single player maps" I can't get them to show up in skirmish mode unless skirmish only accepts multiplayer ready maps. I also would like to know how to use the water tool a bit.

When you say singleplayer map do you mean maps like Galatic Conquest or just a 1v1 map?

erm isn't there a skirmish option saying where your buildings are built or not :lookaround:
