Basically, I'm making a hero unit of Galak Fyyar. The space unit is obviously the Doomgiver, and I've taken care of that. The land unit is him in his gold-colored cortosis suit.

I'm using him as a scaled down Darktrooper III for the land (with weapons changed, etc.), but I'm wondering if there's a model of a gold or yellow colored DT III, or anything similar to that.

Here's a picture of it (though a black face shield comes down over his face, so I'm not worried about that detail).

Anyway, beggars can't be choosers, so I'll take any suggestions. Thanks!

This is a quick reskin I did (don't get your hopes up, this is my first re-skin except for making new skydomes). If you like it and want to use it PM me. drk1.jpg

Here is the skin you requested( couldn't attatch it to a PM). It has the same name as the standard Dark Trooper Version 3 skin. So if you want to replace the dark trooper, just replace the skin with this skin. If you wish to use it in a different way do so. Just remember to give me credit.
Sorry for the double post.

Oh, shoot.

OK, so how exactly would I make it so that this skin would only apply to only one darktrooper III and not all of them?

(make a new unit? do you mean model?)

I'm sorry, I know almost nothing about how skins work...

I'm using the same model for Galak as for the Dark Trooper III's, how would I make the color distiction happen?

No. You make a new unit using XML coding. All you do is - okay for example, lets say the model name is DarkTrooper3.alo (I have no idea what it's actual name is), and the texture file for it is called DarkTrooper3.dds

All you do is save the new golden texture as, say, DarkTrooperG.dds, and save a copy of the dark trooper model as DarkTrooperGold.alo. Then use a hex editor to open DarkTrooperGold.alo and change the texture name from DarkTrooper3.tga to DarkTrooperG.dds

Then make a new unit using XML coding (I recommend just copy and paste the DT phase 3 code), and simply replace the model name with your new golden one, and add the line about animation override (you can find it in other XML's). There, new Golden Darktrooper :)

Ahh.... I see. I actually had the xml code set already, I just need to make a copy of the model (need to figure out how to extract it first...) and download the hex editor... >_>

Oh just to clarify, when I say you need to re-name the texture from, say, DarkTrooper3.tga to DarkTrooperG.dds, I mean that those names have to be done INSIDE the alo model whilst hex editing it. The base (vanilla) textures will be labelled as tga (even though they're dds), but you MUST use the dds extension for this new skin, not tga.
