ok so I am making a personal mod and I had two questions 1. My mod has three sides, (evil) republic/empire as empire, seperatists (confederation) as rebellion, and rebellion (only good guys) as pirates. I have all the models I need I have everything, but I just had a storyline question, sith will be aligned with the republic, so the jedi will be with the rebellion, should the speratists get force users, I think the war between seperatists and republic should be a long drawn out fairly close fight, after a while would dooku have made a semi jedi force. 2. transferring mod xml's from foc mods to eaw mods, which lines do you change in the ground infantry xml. I know the infantry xmls in foc each have their own xml, but how can you add an infantry xml into eaw from foc?

You are wrong on one thing, FOC is a expansion from EAW, it use all the EAW unit files for old EAW units. FOC can not run without EAW. The unique files that FOC does not load are the old galactic conflicts from EAW and campaign but it can load them without problems.

ok, people already debated this on my old thread, it is not illegal if I own both games, and am using this for a personal mod. I know how to mod eaw, I am very good at modding eaw, I have been doing it sine eaw came out, I don't want to learn to mod foc, don't care to learn. I am making a mod of eaw that I want to use models from other mods which are for foc. but I don't want to go down and tediously pick out the lines in the xml's code which don't go in eaw. But if you are going to debate something else entirely (or simply don't know) thanks anyway.

If it's from modders then that's fine, as long as they say you can use their work. first i must say that it may be easier to code in the units from scratch (except HP's) but you could look at the FoC xml for ground unit, and then the EaW one, delete the lines that EaW doesn't use.

Some models in FoC will NOT work in EaW, you'll want to test the mod, one unit at a time, if the game fails then check the CML, after that remove it because that means that the model crashes EaW. Hope this helped ;)

Nothing is impossible, if you know how add them, you will can add them on eaw. The ala animations must be converted and with the foc shaders you will have not problems.

Most FoC models will work, but yes animations are an issue. (you have to convert them) but wouldn't it be getting into porting stuff from FoC into EaW if you use the FoC Shaders? and also there several things that you can not fix that make the FoC models not work in EaW. but that's only a miniscule number of models ;)

othr people do not own both games. you would be giving them access. want it as a personal mods? go ahead. as soon as it's public, it's porting.
