You have two options, one is make again the model unit and the other is change the color on w_laser weapon texture but you would change all the weapons that use this skin.

Open w_laser_small.dds with youy photo editing software, I use photoshop, but there are others that are free, and support .dds. I think you are trying to edit Palpatines model, and replacing Vader, at least that's what I read in another thread. Both Vader, and Palpy, use the red lightsaber in that texture. 1. Open W_Laser_small.dds, change it to your hearts content. 2. Save it as W_laser_smal2.dds, anything really, but with the same number of letters. 3. Copy Palpatines model, and animations, to data\art\models. 4. Change the name from Ei_palpatine.alo, and Ei_palpatine_attack_00.ala, to EI_Newname.alo, and EI_Newname_attack_00.ala. 4. Next google a "free Hex-editor" on the web. I use "XVI32." 5. Open EI_Newname.alo with the hex-editor, and search for "w_laser_small," and change the name of the texture to "W_laser_smal2" 6. Replace Vaders to EINewname.alo. Your done, good luck!

In the search drop down, select find, then under "text string" type in .tga, or .dds until you find w_laser_small.dds(or .tga, some textures are saved as .tga) You will then change the name of the texture. You should have already extracted the w_laser_small.dds from the textures.meg file, and changed it to w_laser_smal2.dds.
