Many who cannot model may be interested in this... 1. Make copies of EI_Palpatine.alo(and all animations), and rename model(and animations)to EA_Palpatine.alo. Open this renamed model with a hex editor, and change to name of the skin. You would also make a copy of Emporer Palpatines entries in the Namedherounit.xml, and Herocompanies.xml. Remember to change his model, name, and .lua script to Palpatine2, 2. Open the .alo model viewer, open the EI_Palpatine.alo model. 3. You will notice that every model has a collision, shadow volume, and a main mesh. Those are of no concern. In Palpy's model he has "Ei_Palpatine_Cloak", we can now tell the game engine to omit this from the game. 4. In the Data\scripts\gameobject\ folder open up Palpatine.lua in notepad. 5. In that .lua place these lines in "Function State_Init(message)" just after this line "if message == OnEnter then" palpy = Find_First_Object("Emperor_Palpatine") Hide_Sub_Object(palpy, 1, "EI_Palpatine_cloak"); 6. Now you need to save this modified .lua as Palpatine2.lua in the data\scripts\gameobject\ folder. 7. Next you would want to change the .dds skin to make this new character look different. And rename it with the name change in option 1. I've tried this with the Field Commander by removing his helmet, gun. Other models like buildings, and props have things that can be omitted. Sorry you don't like it. It wasn't meant to look good, just showcasing a new modding technique. I'm sure if you think about it you will see the benefits of creating a model with many subobjects, and hiding them at the appropriate times with the .lua script.

In the lines of code-script- what do we use instead of palpy in other cases? Is palpy a preset variable, or something you just made in those lines?

"Palpy" is just a named variable, you can name it anything you want.

Wow! And I was wondering what would be your next discovery... Very impressive... O.O Could you take a shot of the 'new' Palpatine's back? Is it invisible (since it was covered with that cloak) or is it skinned too?
