You just need to add a "unique unit" ship to her hero unit coding. It takes a single line of coding. Look at the coding for Darth Vader as an example. Her ship could be a z-95 or anything else. You need to do it this way instead of just changing her transport unit out for a z-95 b/c the z-95s don't have a landing model to my knowledge. That's the difference between Boba Fett and Vader for example).
I've done that, and added a Unique Unit for her Z-95...and she still shows up in a Lambda.
So you have the unique unit coding line in the named heroes XML and you named her unique unit something specific like Jades_Z_95, and unique units contains an entry for JAdes_Z_95? And it still isn't working? If the answer to all this is yes, post your coding for her hero company and her named hero unit and I will look at it.
u always have to change the Yes line if u add an special ship for the hero. and the special hero ship must have the behavior TRANSPORT.

Looking at it for 2 minutes here, your ship looks OK except I think you need the Transport Behavior in its behavior tag. Put up the coding for Mara jade and for her company (hero companies). That's more likely to be where your problem is. This is a common thing to change and I have done it with at least half a dozen heroes w/o having to do anything that tricky so you must be missing something fairly basic imo.
The Hero Company part may be it, I don't see one for Mara Jade in here (And she works fine for land combat, and galactic map stuff).
