I'm trying to mod out Grand Moff Tarkin and put Admiral Thrawn in his place because Grand Moff Tarkin is dead in FOC timeline anyway. But I'm been having a problem with it. I want Admiral Thrawn to be like Grand Moff Tarkin when he is on a planet but be able to use his flagship, The Admonitor, like he always has when he is in orbit. Is there a way for this to work or no?

I'm still trying to teach myself how to mod and edit certain files to do what I want and its trial and error. But that was a little over my head, and I couldn't quite figure out what to do first .... or middle.... or last. lol
And to answer your question, yes, Grand Moff Tarkin's file is still in the game.... unless there was another update to it which I didn't get for it. But he is still shown for some reason.
But i think unles u play the old campain or something like that he wont show up. i think in FoC GC he isnt there.
I just tried the mod out and Grand Moff Tarkin is still in there in the FOC GC campaign. I'm not sure why, I guess he is a main file that has to physically removed. Which version of FOC do you have by the way? Maybe I have an older version. :uhm:
have nothing to do with that. u have to work ur way through the story_sandbox_....xml and delete tarkin there. because there is set what heros u get and when u get them.

I cant believe it still won't work! I found the Story_Empire_Sandbox_56.xml file for GC and the Story_Empire_AI_Heroes_Exp.xml file and deleted Grand Moff Tarkin out of them and put Grand Admiral Thrawn Team in there and it still won't work. :confused: Maybe there isn't a way to edit but in the Empire Thrawn file there is a comment saying you could replace him. I think maybe the original writers of the program was messing with our heads or something. Thanks for your help though
You have to remove Tarkin from *every* Empire sandbox file in order for Tarkin to be removed in all GCs. Right now, you've only removed him from one playable GC. And I'm not sure which GC 56 references, it could even be one from EaW's original set.
Easiest way to do this imo is to just leave tarkin and make thrawn a buildable hero. That way you don't have to go through and edit every single sandbox. Taking out of the game an original hero is not hard, but it is a pain.
