I haven't modded for EAW before but I want to do right now is a few things 1) Increase scale of units. 2) Decrease amount per company. 3) Edit a unit that has the same model as another unit. I already have the EAW Extractor but I have no idea on how to use it. Any help would be great.

I can help you with that. Which EAW extractor do you have? I suggest you use this one: Kaelics MEG Extractor - Petrolution, Modding Resource Hub

To use the EAW extractor (the one in the link) you drag the following files (one by one) and drop them on the .exe of the extractor that you put in GAMEDATA/DATA of your EAW installation

config.meg textures.meg models.meg

The extractor will do its work and you will find new folders called XML, SCRIPTS, TEXT, ART, and RESOURCES (I think).

Now to increase the scale of the units go to a units xml file (most are in groundvehicles.xml and infantry in groundinfantry.xml) in and find the line called 1.75 under the unit with all the other details. It should be a number and you can change this to a larger number for a bigger unit (when scaling you should always increase the scale size in .25 because it is very sensitive number, jumping from 1.0 to 2.0 will result in a unit almost 3x the original size.

Could you please clarify these lines??

2) Decrease amount per company. 3) Edit a unit that has the same model as another unit.

Do you want the price reduced?

I have no clue what you mean by number 3.

btw, the extractor will work on all .meg files for both games. Which is useful if, say, you want to modify a map.

2. If by this you mean decrease the number of squads per company, simply remove from the company units tag. (it's called something like that, and within the tag will display the individual units)

with 3 units: AT_AA_Walker, AT_AA_Walker, AT_AA_Walker this is from the AT_AA company code, you see 3 times the name, every time the name is written a unit is put in the company. here it is with onyl 2 units: AT_AA_Walker, AT_AA_Walker in the groundcompanysempire.xml you search for the heavy scout company and remove 2 times the name of the AT_ST and you shoudl have only 2 at_st's per company Can you explain 3.

Number 3 is slightly harder to explain I have a mod that uses the at-at model and gives it shields While making it a totally differnt unit. But what I would want to do is repaint the at-at into a shadow at-at how would I go about doing this?

Well, you'll have to retexture the model, which'll use a different model in the coding. Basically, copy the model and all relevant textures, and name the model whatever you want. Mess with the texture, then save it with a filename that is different from the texture file it was based on but the same amount of character. Then change the corresponding lines in the model file with a hex editor (this last part should make more sense when you just crack the file open with a hex editor and give it a shot).

Okay I have the hex editor but I still have a few problems. 1) I edited the texture but it still hasen't changed in game. 2) I changed the model name in the XML file but it dosen't work either. 3) The Walker now dosen't move look in at-at it walks with no animation.

Did you actually hex edit the model? It doesn't sound like it.

You also need to copy and rename the animation files as well, or else use an animation override tag.
