I've modelled a Landing version of Virago for Prince Xizor, but it does the landing cycle and stops. It doesn't spawn Xizor, and doesn't take off, it just sits there. What am I missing? I think I set it up exactly as the other transports in game. Thanks in advance!!!

hmm, your possibly missing a bone or maybe however unlikely, missing a landing varient parameter/code in the viragos xml.

I got the landing variant in the xml code. I was looking at the rebelhero transport with the aloviewer, and I notice the main mesh bone, and the root bones are in the same spot when landed. I noticed this with two different transports.

i dunno, maybe consult lord_X on this matter, he knows alot more bout max and boning ships than i do.

Did you try putting a b_ship bone on your model?

No, I looked at several landing transports, including the LAAT in z3rox's mod. I used them as visual reference for this. They don't have a B_ship bone. I just tried lining up the main_mesh bone with the scene root bone, and that did not work.

Bones are not neccesary on landing models. You only need the correct code and the land model with animations from landing and take off.

I dunno, all I know is that until I used Wildcat's rig for the transports, which only had b_ship and some gear bones, my transport wouldn't work and would be exactly as you described yours. :/

He's wrong, the Gallofree uses the Space Unit (the one you see in Space Battles) to land. Not to mention you need Bones to Animate PROPERLY...

I have made more of ten landing vehices from rigged models and they run very well without landing bones. Probably your problem is the code or how you make the model on 3Dmax.
