I read in a modelling forum that Autodesk Inventor models can be converted to 3ds Max 6 models. I have alot of experience on Inventor, so am wondering if 6 works for EAW, and if it does, how would I do it? If anyone knows, please respond.
EDIT: I just checked, and 3ds max 8 does the same thing. So I could essentially make models, as long as someone with 8 converted them and added bones.
Alot of things can convert to OBJ (Yeah i know what inventor does) Now heres the thing every model you import has to be fixed, The importer on each is screwed up, Nothing much you just have to flip some polys, And this works with all ver's of max.
But would it work?
the answer then is what it is now. Yes
I've had a modeler modeled in milkshape and gmax, they can be converted.
Kalo said that the process is screwed up. Will that alter the model?
From what kalo said it might but it sounded like if you know what you were doing you couldfix it easy.
OK, thanks. I tried gmax, and it is so complicated. I could have done what I wanted to do, in Inventor, for a tenth the time (I've had over a year of experience on Inventor, our school has it, and I'm the best at it in my school(my teacher even asked me for help)).
umm thats nice, lol kelathin has over a month of 3ds max and modeled the darkempire eclipse. it is one of the best, go ask kel how to model
I could make the Eclipse on Inventor in an hour. It would look good too. So I don't get the point of your post. Not to mention I might as well use the resources available to me.
Don't go offtopic guys.
Most of the model should be fine. How many people import .obj warlords? It's fine don't worry.
