I didn't make it!
In the forums, there is this one modder ( I am new so I'm not aquianted with anyone yet), in which a 1 credit/1 second mod was made for both FOC and EAW.
My question is, in the version with the EAW, when I play GC, the only thing that's 1 C/ 1 second is the space stations, officers, and build platform options. In FOC, everything is 1 credit/1 second.
Problem of course, if I'm playing FOC, everyone can build 100 ships and the game turns into a crawling turtle. I was wondering if the one for FOC can be modified to do the same as the EAW one, for just space-stations and what not.
Of couarse, if I was to try and make my own to do so, how hard would it be?

For you to get all the ships and things to have longer build times edit the number in the line in the xmls that you are editing to be bigger. Hopefully this helps you. If you don't know how to edit xmls, look in the master sticky at some of the tutorials. There's plenty of tuts. out there.
If you want, you can download this XML editor called XMLPad.
It's a free XML editor, which will highlight something that isn't written correctly in the file.

There's is also PXE (peter's xml editor) which also tells you what is wrong (most of the time :lol: )
and editing build times is one of the more easy-er things to do in modding eaw foc
Yes, oddslayer is right. That is the base of XML editing. And btw, PXE is, as you told it, simply teh same as XML pad.

As we told, you have to do that yourself. Just look in the files with the name of any units you want to change. NOT the Sandbox_***.xml's, which are the biggest part of the XML files.

Take a look at the 1 credit\1 second mod folder in SWFOC\Mods\"mod name here"\data\xml. Now if you only want the starbases, Commanders, and build structures to cost 1 credit\1 sec, they are kept in starbases.xml, herocompanies.xml, and specialstructures.xml. So you must leave those xml's alone. But delete the, squadrons.xml, groundcompaniesempire.xml, groundcompaniesrebel.xml, spaceunitcorvette.xml, spaceunitfrigate.xml, spaceunitcapital.xml. What you are doing by deleting those xml's is defaulting them back to the xml's that are in the .meg files. So they will be the standard game files, except for the ones you left in the mod folder.
I wanted to write that too, but was busy with own mod posting. Hope you'll learn fast 'bout the .XML's!
