i was in a pissy mood when i made this thread, no hard feelings and ya dead squad members are replaced in reality but what about hero units like red squadron, you lose wedge a new wedge isn't going to take his place

In the mod i have in my game (I made one out of a bunch of different mods.) there is a repair ship that doesnt bring a person back (like bring luke back into red sqaudron.) it justs brings the fighters health back to full.

haven't goten around to it, i just found my game disk this morning, someone found it funny to put it in one of my xbox game boxes and havent really goten around to playing the game, I'll try it, uhh now actualy

EDIT: i was looking at the coding and only a couple ships have the line maintenance_cost in their coding.... is this the same with yours?

i found that every capital ship has the maintanance_cost, not sure about the squadrons yet .

Maybe try the gameconstants file I think I remember there being an entry which sound like it could related to damage repair I've tried changing the fleet_maintance_update_delay_seconds to no effect. I have a feeling that this isn't possible at least from a XML standpointI suspect that the game just loads the data for each unit from the xml file at the start of each battle rather than creating a unit with data from the xml and then tracking it as a unique instance of a unit type. I really hope that I'm proved wrong as the carry over damage would very much improve the game. At the moment you can lose a battle leaving enemy units almost useless and then they can move on to your next planet in top order

did u change it or delete it? i believe deleting it would have a better effect rather than just changing it.

I didn't notice any change wonder if the maintence cost slowly drains funds
