Hey I just found this mod and I was wondering if anyone knows how he did the Hangar Shield. I viewed the model in a alo viewer and it shows that the hangar is modeled all the way to the other side, but I couldn't figure out the shield effect and how to do it. You can see what I am talking about here:

In 3ds Max u take a simple plane, u put the meshshield shader with the correct textures on it. U save the plane as a hardpoint file( venator_hp_hangar.alo etc.) and make the xml coding. DONE!! But I need help making a Venator Hangar. Im trying to make the midship hangar and a need to code that the ship opens the hangar doors before it spawns the squadrons and that it closes them afterwards. Help!! And pls no one says its impossible because it is NOT!!!

Thanks! What about for your issue maybe a animation that is triggered by a fighter respawn?

I made the animation. but the problem is the triggering. I tried all day to get it to work

I think I found an answer I was reading a post about the venator mod and I read this comment: "Does anyone think that the venator should have the blast hangar doors down the middle open for a 'deploy squadron' ability like the SSD"

Ok so Deploy Squadron would be what your looking for. I think.

Ok so Deploy Squadron would be what your looking for. I think.

I don't think there's an animation linked to that particular ability. You can check though, pretty sure it's the ability off the Executor in the unmodded version of FOC.

Every unit is limited to 2 abilities and my venator has already 2 so im trying to code it without an ability.

Hmm not sure that would work. Space units typically don't seem to have any sort of animation associated with spawning. Now some of the ground structures will open a door when they spawn garrison units, however, I think that may be hardcoded into the way the engine treats structures. You can take a look there as a starting point, but I don't remember seeing the specific animations referenced anywhere.

I suppose you could try adding open, close, and hold animations to your ship and see if it will use them.

I doubt that would be hardcoded; given the proper animations, it should work in space as well.

u are right with the building doors. I didnt think about that. I will try it. On the other hand Im learning hardcoding wright now and I might figure out how to do it for eaw. But that will take time because hardcoding is difficult
