Hi everyone. In the mod I'm making at the moment, I have a variant of Venator that I would like to look different from the standard venators. Is it possible to have this variant use a separate .dds texture to the standard Venator, or do I have to use a different model entirely? If this is the case can anyone provide a link to one which is essentially just a re-skin. Thanks in advance.

BAH! just rename your new texture to the name of the original and put it where it goes. I did that once with the MC30. IDK what the original venator texture is called so you'll have to find that

I was told hex editing a model will allow that.

Hex editing the model to point from the current texture to the new one is the easiest way for one to do this. That way you can use the same model just named differently and the 2nd version will point to a second texture so both can be used in-game without an issue.

A version that I know that works is the XVI32 hex editor:
