Unbalance the Game? Are you kidding? if anything they were UP'ed. And don't fit...? You do realize that Kyle Katarn (The guy who stopped them) was a very large part of SW Expanded...?

kalo's right. P1 were terrible. P2 were good and fairly balanced. P3 were unbalanced in places but hideously slow.

As was Dark Empire.. You can accept everything that comes with 'Star Wars' sign, or you can discard some of it that don't fit. I don't like the heroic approach of Star Wars - although galaxy has many bilions inhabitants, only few decide everything simply becouse of destiny... I also don't like many other strange ideas, including Kyle Katarn deeds, DT project and invincible Eclipse.

If you don't agree with my view of Star Wars world, simply don't play this mod.:rolleyes:

You shouldn't really be that kinda tough cause you need public support to make your mod a success.

I get your point. However, I also stated few points in the beginning - one of them about limiting unrealistic units. I called this mod 'Realistic Star Wars' becouse I want to bring game as close to movies/most of EU as possible. Having an army full of Dark Troopers won't get my any closer to this. If somebody doesn't agree with this aim - he/she should create diffrent mod.

I may sound tough, but 'Are you kidding' and 'you do realise that..' don't convince me to start any kind of creative/support discussion

Last, but not least, I don't search for success of any kind. I don't want to 'exist' in this community in any particular way - that's what I have my real life for. I simply searched for mod that suit my taste, and (after failing) I started to do mod on my own, and decided to share it with people who're looking for something similar.

I don't promise any swift progress. I do my coding when I want to and when I have time to do so. If you want to try it - do it. If you enjoy it - even better and glad that you do:)

While i understand that you're trying to go movie style here, this somewhat removes some needed points for each Faction (Rebel and Empire), Such as the fact that the Rebels, instead of having the 1337est tech known to Alien-kind, had more in the way of famous people, And while i know Movie-style would be cool.. It'd somewhat limit your options, Kyle Katarn and his Commandos, to me, Seem like a great way for your Mod to beef this up.. And not just him, i mean you could just reskin him to look like he does in DF1, but there are other Heroes as well...such as Dodonna, Garm Bel Iblis (But without Petroglyphs BS), and as well as true units...like Bothans and their spy net work (Which, in my opinon, no Mod has really gotten true to making them efficiently) While i'm not exactly trying to shove you around, It's not exactly smart to go strictly movie style, You're also setting yourself up for additional work, if you wanted a stricter movie style you'd have to LUA in the different Z Layers so all of your Ships would look right.

hmm... you unbalance the game way to much, next release (if there is one) re balance it again, and maybe add the same things to each side. And why would you unbalance it so much? :Puzzled:

About Kyle Katarn, Bothans and etc., you are right, and sooner or later I'll most likely consider it. Same with adding (or replacing?) Rebel infantry units on some planets with alien ones.

I don't want to go too ambitious with this mod - I am fairly experienced when it comes to modding (not EaW, though), but I'm yet to release something truly polished. I want to do this mod at my own pace and give myself aims that can be realized. For now, it's changing mostly game mechanics - adjusting unit values to better reflect SW-canon.

For rebellion, I plan to slightly decrease impact of Mon Calamari. I know they were very important, but again, they inhabitet only a few planets. In galaxy we had many bilions of star systems - but we don't hear anything about ships belonging to other races etc. I will continue to use MC80 and Interdictor CC-7700 (?IIRC), but will try to replace current MC missile frigate with other human/alien design. What would you like to see? And what would you like me to do with LR-concussion missiles ships? Currently it's far to easy to win using them (in fact, they can easily win against CapShips if used correctly - and AI can't oppose them :( ), so I'll have to do something with them..

Today I have a day off, but becouse I'm busy anyway I'll only finish my database of FoC & RPG fighter values, and create full 12-fighters-squadrons. BTW, what do you think about diffrent approach to spawning fighters? Instead of having them released from hangars, I'll use DeathStar's code. This would allow me to give ISD destructible laser point defence on hangar hardpoint.

You mean by nerfing Zann? If so, it's intended. GCW was fought between two ideologies represented by Rebellion and Empire. Again, that's what we see in movies and expanded universe. No other faction is able to engage them in full scale warfare and field massive armies, becouse that lack the resources and facilities.

I want to make Zann minor faction - it has to rely on it's special units and abilities to win. When under AI control it'll most likely disappear, which is intended as well ;) As to the plans regarding Zann faction, I'll only replace it's starbase with pirate asteroid base (with progresive increase of weapons and armour, of course ;) ) and adjust values for some units. No major rework is intended..

Canon is not a personal view. some things are classified canon. some are classified uncanon. canon is films, some games, and most books and the occasional comic. uncanon are exceptions. eg. star wars tales and things.) and to quote kreia (however crap she is) "anything is possible through the force"
