hello :P i have 2 Questions for u guys :D 1. How do i replace units on a certain techlevel? cuz i want to make it so that in tech 3 my Clone units in Z's mod are gonna be replaced with Imperial units so the Legacy Becomes the Star Destroyer the Venator the Strike Cruiser etc etc etc and the Clone Troopers become the Stormtroopers etc. 2. How do i make it so that the Corvette's, Frigate's, Capital and Super Ships fly around the map like Fighters? cuz that would be cool :O. and for the people that are gonna help me thanks :D

1. You must use story plot files and code it so on each tech level the old unit is locked (and new one appears normally). Try to find the line with Z-95 replacement with X-Wing from campaign and put there what you need.

2. Just code them as fighters.

Use the basis code of

STORY_TRIGGERBUILDABLE_UNITRebel_X-Wing_SquadronZ95_Headhunter_Rebel_SquadronUniversal_Story_Start

The first reward param indicates the unit being unlocked, the second indicated the unit being locked. The prereq can be anything really, from the start of any story as in this example, or the changing of a tech level.

WoW thanks Windu that's gonna help alot :D and the Capital part but how do i code them in as Fighters? wont they then be super smal and fast?

Nope. If you give it a normal scale factor and speed it will be still the same ship, just moving funny.

I.e. take TIE defender code, replace model, icon and hardpoints to ISD ones, leave only one 'fighter' in squadron and here you've got most maneuverable destroyer in the galaxy :D

They go into story files, for example 'Story_sandbox_33b_rebel.xml'. Every GC campaign has one of those files that determines how the heroes appear, and that is where the coding needs to go.

Now hold up y'all. I got a question. Will his already built Venators turn into Strike Cruiers, or just be there, but then disabled from having more of them being built?

Well, even if Force was with you it would be hard to turn already built ship to another :D Only the build menu changes, so you can't build outdated units anymore.
