I think Robotech would translate really well into a FOC mod. For those unfamiliar with the series, well, look it up on wikipedia. My post will assume readers are familiar with it. In terms of the three factions, I would have an Earth faction that would access RDF, then Southern Cross & REF equipment with increases in tech levels. The second faction would be Zentraedi/Robotech Masters, and the third faction would be Invid. Different Sentinel races could be represented as independents or pirates. Most of the work would be reworking models for the units; however, the unit types in FOC would translate well over to Robotech, so I think the mod could be achieved within the FOC game structure. Space combat as it is currently structured would work well with Robotech models. Land combat would also be workable. Most Stars Wars walkers could be remodeled as destroids, speeder bikes to Cyclones, air units to veritechs, etc. I'm wondering if Veritechs could be made to transform, using the special weapon function, particulary modding Boba Fett's jump pack special ability. For space combat, reworking models would be most of the work. Robotech reflex main guns could be modded from the DS2, Sovereign, or Eclipse main guns and graphically widening the beam. Unfortunately, I have neither the modding skills or free time to lead this project; however, if there are people interested in forming a team, I do have lots of ideas on how to translate existing FOC units/planets/races/heroes/structure into Robotech canon and would be happy to contribute to a team.
robotech sounds looks and sounds kool since it kinda looks like gundam. i d k if andbody would do a mod like this since alot of the "good people" are doin' the big mods.
your dream may be sadly not done, all the people that have modelers are busy with their mods, and everyone else not in a mod team, either can't model or can't convert there models for FOC capability
I take what n0e says way too seriously

hmm, this sounds like a total conversion? I would go with small releases first, like just space units, then land, then buildings, then techs, and what not building up to a total coversion.

doesn't work with a trans-format (i.e. non-star wars) total conversion. people will be more interested, but in the end, you will saturate it.
the games are old but fun and i think that a mod would be abandoned shortly after it started because there are many people whi have not even herd of it (like almost everyone i know) srry but thats what i think
Veritechs could use the deploy thing that the mptl and spma-t have (I assume your talking about non-infantry units, but it could also work with infantry), you would need to make deploy animations and stuff like that of course. The Death Star Superlaser projectile in EaW use width and length coding, so you could increase width by increasing the number, but I think the DS2 has different coding.
"Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner" would be a better robot game. It has much more depth to it than Robotech. (I have both and have completed both) the ships are also much more, well, alien looking. The Zentradi's shipsor whatever just look green. Thats it, just green. The humans dont even have ships they have Veritech 1.
