How do I make the map editor use mod stuff? For instance... I have Phoenix Rising, and I wish to make maps for it. Alternatively, I wish to put the ships into positions on the screen to make wallpapers, like I do ALL the time. Could somebody help me out here?

You actually have to the mod stuff in the main data file. Instead of the mod in the mod folder you just move the data folder of the mod to the data folder of the original game.

I hope that made sense.

here's what I do:

copy the folder of the mod, i.e. Mods/EXAMPLE. stick it on your desktop, or wherever you want it.

copy all the .MEG files and MegaFiles.XML from your Data folder from FoC or EaW (depending on mod) and put them in the copied mod folder's Data folder. if the mod has modified versions of these files use those instead.

copy EAW Terrain Editor.exe, binkw32.dll, mss32.dll, and PerceptionFunctionG.dll from the main game folder (either EaW or FoC as needed) and place those in the mod's main folder.

hope that's clear... be warned that (some or all, not sure) custom shaders will make the editor crash, so don't keep those in the copied mod folder.
