I'm trying to give ships the ability to attack missiles from their hardpoints. I'm trying to do this without the need of a special ability like Laser Defense from the Corvette that the Zann Consortium uses. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance ~

This is a solution I can think of off the top of my head...

Still use the Laser Defense Ability code, but switch it from "User_Input" to "Special_Attack." This *should* cause it to auto-trigger on its own, but this may only be for directed attacks.

Hmm...would their be a way to make the projectile for the Laser Defense Ability come out in bursts instead of one line? Ex: - - - - - - - <===< instead of ------------ <===

I tried using the Special_Attack tag like you stated but it does not work and the ships don't do autofire even when right clicked to do so or put in the code.

I think it'd be possible to make the Missile Defnce laser a permanent hardpoint. Could you post the code for the ability, and maybe the projectile for the laser along with it?

I think I have a better idea...why not use a normalish projectile, but make it capable of targeting and destroying missiles?

You have to add that somewhere else in the coding, I can't remember what line that was... But if you didn't add the ability name to the specific line, the ability wouldn't work... God, I forgot about that line so many times, but I can't recall which one. :/

Well seeing as nobody can figure this out does anybody know the XML coding to get hardpoints to auto-acquire and attack enemies? Thanx in advance ~
