Self Pro-claimed Astronaut

That is the name of my new mod. Its gonna feature about 330 brand new planets. Combining that with stock EAW planets will bring the total count to around 370 planets. I already got about 10% of the thing done and right now looking for some assistance.
I am currently running into a few bumps and was wondering if anyone who is extensively knowledgebale in scripting using LUA or XML. And maybe a few willing mappers who would want to create some new maps.
My goals in SOTG:
Have extra challenges that will completely replace the campaigns in the Conquest menu. I already have a few ideas for these challenges, and have intentions to make everything MP compatable. These challenges are specialized tasks that differ largely from what EAW had intented.
A full encylepdic information for each planet.
Possibly more neutral factions that will act indepentandtly (as there are alot in the star wars universe). Of course, not every faction will be as ambitious as to take over the galaxy. Some will try though.
Storm of the Galaxy is going to be huge when its done. My ideas don't even begin to make full use of the size of my galaxy. I'd like some outside assistance to help bring some ideas I have to life, and preferrably new ideas I most likely haven't thought of yet. Novice modders to experienced modders are welcome.
For anyone who is interested or just wants to hang out and view the action taking place, I have a forum set up at:

holy vrap thats alot of planets is that ever gona lag bad a hour in our time will be like 2 mins in the game time not to be mean but id serioulys consider the number of planets you want to have in game!!
As long as all of them aren't on the screen at the same time, our computers might have a chance at not exploding.

Holy! You'll be in the Senior Center by the time you finish those maps. And even scaled down it will lag horribly.
I'm cooler than you. :p

The main reason for lag with so many planets in one GC is not the scale of the planets themselves, but rather ALL the different fleets being controlled by the AI. And because the AI moves a handful of fleets at a time, not just one at a time like a human player, it can create a lot of lag--depending on how many planets there are. Just thought I'd clear that up. ;) --Alpha
I'll help out if you need it. I'm a game design student at ITT.
So in other words, this won't be playable until quad core processors cost less than $1000, and everyone has one.

Or that he plans to put only so many per gc and split them up into sections.
