Hi everyone. At the moment I'm working on adding Tractor beam satellites as a constructable option for the laser pads in space battles. I've been able to make them build properly, but neither of the satellites will attack anything, even when I tell them to. Below is the code I have {Except for minor alterations - health, shield points etc. - it is the same as the existing code} for the Empire one (The Rebel one is identical except for the affiliation and the 'Applicable_Unit_Types' line.) If someone could have a look at it and tell me what is wrong with this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, AUS_Doug. being extremely amateur about this sort of thing myself, I would think you totally forgot to give it ability data,

so the Tractor Beam Ability in itself doesn't exist TO lock on to the target and hold it in place. But don't quote me on that, remember, im a newb

Could be that it works, didn't test it. Just give it a try. ;)

I was able to get this satellite to work once before. The reason it doesn't work is because it doesn't have tractor beam hardpoint, without it the ability won't work. Just make a copy of the Star Destroyer's tractor hardpoint and rename the attachment bone to root and change the hardpoint name to HP_Sat_Tractor_Beam. Also set the Is_destroyable and Is_targetable to No, so the hardpoint can't be targeted, just the satellite. I would post a copy of the hardpoint code, but I'm using a cellphone right now, so I don't have access to EAW stuff right now.

Excellent, thanks guys. I'll the try hardpoint idea first because that makes the most sense to me.

Ok. Got it working, it now fires and slows ships correctly. But it does not show the actual beam coming out and latching on. Does anyone know why?
