IT'S PISSING ME OFF! WHO THE HELL SHOOTS GUNS LIKE THAT?! EVEN BATTLEFRONT 2 ACTUALLY GOT THAT RIGHT!
So, um, dramatic intro aside, is there anyone out there that can edit the animation of the troopers (especially the Stormtrooper) firing? Not just for me, but for the whole modding community. I don't think anyone has ever noticed/thought this before... And the Stormtrooper gun looks ridiculous, and looks nothing like any gun I've ever seen in the movies. But I'm more concerned about the animation.
People could at least say the agree or disagree with me.
personally i dont see anything wrong with it. i cant do anims or even model, but how would you rather have them shoot?
Are you saying how they lean back, then fire?
I get the feeling I'm the only one that knows how to shoot a gun here... This is how you shoot a rifle:

The Stormtroopers shot this way in the movie too, but they don't in the game.
I've put elk down in one shot at over 200 yards, I call that shooting.
Ok, but you didn't seem to know what I was talking about. But you do know what I'm talking about right? Just watch the Stormtroopers fire, it looks stupid.
Insulting isn't going to get you anywhere.
You don't need to get on the ground to fire, I took rifle and shotgun merit badges in boyscouts, I never got on the ground to fire. The weapon that the soldier uses is a semi-automatic or perhaps automatic weapon. I'm not sure, but the recoil on thoses is why he set it on the ground. StormTroopers rifles aren't automatic and the recoil for a laserbolt can't be terribly powerful so I think their animations are just fine.
Anyhow to your orginal question. You need .alo importer 50 Dollars 3ds max 6 or 8 for another 500$
import stormtrooper and switch to .3ds import it into max. re rig it and re animate all animations.
First of all, when did I insult anyone? Second, the way he's holding it. Not the fact that he's lying down. Like I said, the Stormies fired this way in the movies too. But they don't in EaW. Third, thanks for the info, but that wasn't what I was looking for. If I had the money, I would've gotten that stuff a LONG time ago.

All the recoil in the machine guns is redirected to expend the used cartridge, therefore you'll feel little, if any when using one.
