intro Im trying to make a mod for FOC this mod is called R-C or Republic Commandos while I don't plan on releasing it I plan on it being a learning experience, so I make to mod frame and tried to code in a hero (Ahsoka Tano), but as I was running it gave me this error message

xml parse error-file.\data\XML\GUIDialogs.xml: File has syntax errors, see log file.

Problem and what I did When I try to run this mod i get an error message saying

I tried to fix this by removing/changing files as well as adding the GUIDialogs file, but none of it worked, so I scraped the mod and tried to rebuild it, but the same thing happened again, so im wondering what I did wrong.

What This mod includes -added in Ahsoka Tano.xml -added in model and textures, as well as animations Ahsoka Tano -edited Gameobjectfile to open Ahsoka_Tano.xml

A syntax error message, in my experience, means that somewhere in that file there is: A line that is not recognised because the order of the words (syntax) in it is wrong Or There is a line in there that has not been closed off correctly. Could you attach that file, or upload it somewhere so it can be looked at. (Unless someone else knows what the problem is - I've never had a problem with that file before)

I am not. I am sorry if i didn't make it clear, but the first time i ran the mod I didn't even have a guidialog.xml I only add in an unedited one later to see if that could fix it, but it didn't work :(. It would be easy to fix the error if i knew how I caused it....Btw this is the link that showed me how to mod empire at war

Now that is quite odd; Using the compare plug-in on Notepad++, I just compared the code you posted to that from the ORIGINAL GUIDialogs file and it says that they are exactly the same. I'm afraid I don't quite know what is wrong. Also, I have no idea where the log file gets generated after an error like this; I've looked before but have never found it.

hmm maybe its a problem in the XML I made so i'm going to try to run it without any file in my mod and if that works then i will create another unit for the mod and see if it runs with that file anyway heres the code for the xml File.

I found a problem in a one of the XML's I edited, so it seems that a GUIDIALOGS error means that there is a problem with any script in the mod. anyway I found another error. xml parse error - File .\Data\XML\SurfaceFX.xml: file has synatax errors, see log file Im going to look and try to fix it, but if I can't i'll post the original, but its more then likely that the error is in the coding I edited.

Update: I got rid of all my mod files and tried to run it, but I still got the xml parse error - File .\Data\XML\GUIDIALOGS xml: file has synatax errors, see log file. I just don't get it :(
