I have added a rebel speeder and for some reason it will not move but everything else works fine. When I finally got it to move it went very very slowly but the speed lines were correct and all that. Can someone please help me? Do you need the xml code? Thanks

Sounds like a problem with the movement speed coding unless you did something else that was funky. There wasn't a Repulsor lift jammer in operation I take it? Nor were you in water (that shouldn't matter for a speeder if you coded it right, but who knows). If none of this stuff was the case, post your code and maybe I can help.

Couple ideas about your problem here: First- at least to me there is nothing immediately obviously wrong with the code. So, I would try increasing the speed by a factor of 5 in the code, and I would make it so the thing is NOT affected by a graveity generators, and then I would test it again to see if that changed anything. If it doesn't then you know there is some other problem like: Second- this code is at least partially based on Alliance coding for a similar unit. But Alliance made a big change with their hovercraft- they made them able to "fly" in effect. THey could go over mountains and they hovered way off teh ground. I don't remember what kind of locomotor they used (either speeder bike or snowspeed presumably), but you are using speeder bike. You're problem COULD be that you need some additional thing related to speeder bike locomotor from alliance. In this case, I am thinking that might be the speeder_bike_lua. Without the alliance lua, your speeder bike might not know how it is supposed to move. So if they first suggestion doesn't work and you want to leave your unit as a flying type unit, you might want to switch to the same locomotor that snowspeeders use.

I wanted it so the speeder wont fly and just be like a regular speeder bike. I tried what you said but there is no lua file in Alliance 2.3X for speeder bikes. I tried coding it using a normal speeder bikes code as a base but whenever the game loads past my splash screen it just suddenly crashes without an error message. Why is this? Thanks

That's weird about the game crashing. You checked that all of your XMLs compile properly right (open each one up in an IE window and see that it loads all the way to the bottom?) If I were you, I would basically start over with the coding. I would use the T2B as a base, and change the model that is used to your speeder model, change the name in the XML- Call it T2B_B or something- (don't worry about the in game text for right now), and then change where it is built and the affiliation. Do that for the unit XML. Do the same thing for the company, and then add one company of them to some specific gc scenario that you know works. Then I would start the game. If the game crashes at that point, and all of your xmls compile properly, then you have some other unrelated problem- one vehicle won't make the game crash before you even start the GC. What's the name of the speeder you are trying to get btw? Chances are I already have it in my personal mod in the form you are looking for.

I am using the rebel light attack speeder. It has a turret on the back and has 2 seats. I checked all the xmls with firefox and IE but they are fine and have no errors. I am going to start over like you said with the t2b as the base since that has a turret too. Thanks

Yeah, start over and if you can't get it post on here. i have the rebel light attack speeder in my game and it works fine, so if you can't get it to work after starting over with the t2b, say so, and i will post my code.

I think I got it to work. I recoded the speeder using the t2bs code just like you said and it moves and shoots just like its supposed to. I have a question though. Does you personal mod have a death clone for the speeder? If you do could you please get me it or something. Otherwise thanks a ton for helping me, I greatly appreciate it.

No problem. Happy to help. I do not have a death clone for the speeder. I just just use a big explosion like the tie maulers when it dies so that you can't see it. For what it's worth death clone models are fairly easy to make, its just never been worth it to me to make one.
