Hi I would like to know if it would be okay for me to do the following things:

use UAW music in mods use UAW models/textures/skins in mods use UAW shaders in mods

I just wanted to ask since UAW is also made by petroglyph, and the released the sound track entirely for free.

also, would UAW shaders improve the graphic in FOC since they are newer, or would they not affect anything?

Music, models and textures can all be used though you might have trouble with animations. FoC animations aren't compatible with vanilla EaW so i suspect UAWs aren't either. Shaders are probably not supported by the engine but it might be worth a try

Moddb and FF rules state that you can't post that content right? For a personal mod sure but not for a release I thought?

Moddb has some rules like that but they don't enforce them many of the mods use ported content for their mods i seen a lot on moddb but filefront enforce those rules [QUOTE=Warb_Null;5577819]Music, models and textures can all be used though you might have trouble with animations. i have personally ported a lot of models from UAW to FOC without the need of 3ds max and they work fine (mainly the Us Army units and Infected Humans to make a wave mode type map), even copied over some of their code into FOC and it worked as well, shaders work but you must use the DX9 version of their shaders or they wont work and i must say using the UAW shaders in place of the FOC ones make FOC looks really good.

So the bottom line is if you know how to code and use EAW extractor to extract the .MEG files thin yes it's 100% possible

Strange. I have seen that if you use the UAW shaders replacing the FOC shaders, all the models will be loaded green as if they had not the shader.

Have I made anything wrong?

Place the shaders in the shader folder of the root instead of in the mod folder. That should work.

I don't supose you could post those shaders somewhere?. I would like to try that myself but i dont own UaW

you can download the demo and use the .meg extractor to get the files. thats how i got the shaders.

when i put the shaders in the mod folder the models in game weren't green, but would be extremely bright.

I just put the shaders into the main foc folder and, well, it looks like crap.

these are some pics i took from the map editor that show the changes i couldn't show any in-game pics because one of the shaders removes the loading screen menu. so you just see the battle

Yes I have made it from the begining but they do not run.
