Every single time i try to load a model, it never works, it always so error loading proxy or error loading texture or something like that.... what am I doing wrong?

Does it say what textures are missing? If so all you got to do is make a Textured folder in your Art folder then put those required textures on the Textures folder which are all located in your FOC or EAW directory. Which should look like C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\Mods\GAR\Data\Art. Except for the GAR part that part depends on the name of the mod.

If i have to do that for every model, thats kind of tedious isnt it? And what if its a custom downlaoded model, chances are it wont come with any textures... if its just an .alo file. so something isnt making any sense here obviously.

the way it works Zauren Makai is that you have the model but without the textures everything would come out weird as in that it would come out gray or everytime u change the color the whole model changes colors and thats pretty much why you need the textures otherwise the models dont work right. Also each model has its own textures which if youre missing any itll say which ones youre missing at the bottom

But his .alo viewer says it on every model. Then he would miss all his textures.

Maybe hes simply placing them in the wrong place or if he has a shader folder in the original EAW than that might also be it cause i had that same problem and when i took out the shader folder in EAW (not FOC) the units came out right. Wat directory are u placing the texture folder in?

If you're talking to me: in EaW I don't have an art-folder. The game just takes the data out of the .MEG files.

Edit: In FoC too btw.

you need an art folder in your EAW or FOC data folder. Structured like this: X:/Empire At War Game/Data/Textures also a models folder and shaders folder. For any custom shaders and models as well.

The map editor wont read any texture information or proxies or custom shaders unless you have added everything you need for the model you want to view into those folders. For the proxies error make sure you have any custom particles (eg, engines and other particle files) in your data/Models folder as well.

Alternatively with the latest Alo Viewer make sure that the mod you want to view in the alo viewer has had its path set up in the alo viewer so it can find the modded files. (Select which game engine) and the mod you want to view models from.
