I see one problem on Cato Neimoidia map. The big mountains will give a big shadow and probably some zone from map will be too dark. Of course I have not tested it but I have seen this problem before on other maps.

Oh, my bad. I tried uploading it last night, but my internet at home is too slow, just send me an email at Xanofar@gmail.com and I'll send it via there.

Is anyone else having this problem?

It's not a problem: Landscape doesn't provide major shadows like objects do, and the settings for the sun are pretty flexible, so it's no issue.

I'm sure people have either tested the map by now or forgotten about it, any comments upon trying it?

Well, Cato Neimoidia is mostly done, but there are still a number of things that need to be done before it is released, some of which I have relatively little control over, so in the meantime I'm going to start making a relatively small map (6 x 6, as opposed to my more common 7 x 7) of Mytus VII. That is, the planet-and/or-asteroid that hosted the Stars' End prison facility.

MytusVII.jpg

This is apparently a picture of Mytus VII, but I have no idea whether the blue planet is Mytus VII, or whether the asteroid the Falcon is on is Mytus VII. Mytus VII is supposed to be an asteroid, and that planet doesn't look like the surrounding asteroids, and the asteroid the Falcon is on is too small. Anybody got an explanation for me please?

I think it would be a very logical and safe assumption that the purplish planet is Mytus VII. The Stars' End prison facility is described as being very large and somewhat complex. Plus, although the picture on Wookieepedia probably isn't meant to be taken as a precise representation of the planet, the small asteroid is barely big enough for the Millennium Falcon to land on it. Taking these two observations into account, I'd go with the purple planet as being Mytus VII.

Well, I'm barely online these days, and I'm almost certainly not going to be online for the next three weeks since I'll be going to Montana (meaning I gotta get as many downloads of things I want to work with before I'm gone) but I have been working quite hard on Mytus VII offline:

It's still a work in progress, but I'm quite happy with it thus far.

The Kamino small towers are only there for reference markers to me, they'll all be removed when it's done.

The Stars' End prison was eventually rebuilt after Han and Chewie escaped from it. Before it's destruction:

"Additional surface facilities on the planet were planned, but were still under construction when the tower was destroyed. They reportedly were to include a full-service starport, and an underground monorail system. Temporary hangars, dormitories, and storage facilities were connected by clear tunnel-tubes while permanent buildings were being built." So the design of the map is essentially a completed spaceport. I also wanted the map to bear at least some resemblance to Bonadan in architecture.

Unlike Bonadan, however, I'm putting an emphasis on the necessity of infantry and repulsor-craft. For example, in the top left is a base section that will only have a skinny entrance at the very top of the map, but a repulsor-craft-only passageway, and an infantry-only passageway will also exist, allowing for more strategy flexibility and ambush tactics (like having plex troopers sneak up behind on an AT-AT while it advances towards the all-units passageway).

I'm not sure what I'll do about the planet design though. Maybe I'll to see if I can alter the color of the Kessel model for it or something.

Just some general feedback... Very nice ideas all around. I love the idea of having infantry / light vehicle passages. It presents the opportunity to implement new tactics. Altering the color of Kessel would also be a good idea.

Turns out I'll only be gone 10 days. Anyway, I may or may not have it done before I leave tomorrow (the land part is almost done, but still), either way I'll be bringing my laptop with me, and I may get a chance to upload it there.

This will be turned into a multiplayer map as well.
