Hi guys,

as for i was looking for a big galactic SW FoC map and i found nothing. so i did it on my owne.

after 30 hours of generating xml code i got a galaxy with 161 planets. there are still some little positions problems i have to fix before it gots ready. but thats not the problem.

first of all, the little preview map shows all of the 161 planets but not in its given field. it expands and shows the blue / red / yellow points outside the map preview. so that you have the planets on your bottons . how can i fix it?

second problem and the bigger one: i can save games but not reload them. if i´m doing it, the game collaps and a Expansion error appears. if i´m leaving a game the game collaps and i´m getting the same error.

i havetried a lot and studied a lot of game data but without a bugfix. in the end of hope i´m writing to you in order to get help.

I think the answer to all your questions is that EaW simply cannot support that many planets. No matter how fast your computer is, the game engine itself just wasn't made to support that much data in one map. That's why no HUGE GC maps like this have ever been made before (partly) and I think it's why yours isn't working right. Anyone else with more GC mapping experience, please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

change the scale of the planets so that there smaller and also change all there location to bring the planets closer together

well, im not sure if the engine is too weak. i have allready played a copple of hours on this huge galactic map and it worked. maybe a little laggy.

ok, maybe the game collaps when i´m going to make a fight manully at one planet, but that is just a problem with this one planet.

it only really collaps when im reloading a game or tring to leave a runing game.

the downscaling of the hole galaxy might be the wrong way. 161 planets means to fix : 2 x position each 2 x scale 2 x trading route.

that means 966 corrections. i won´t make it . :)

there must be an other way. something like a data i have to patch or maybe like the galaxy backgrount i streched.

The best advice I can give you is to look at some other mods that have added planets and see how they did it. You obviously don't want to copy anything without permission, but after looking at a couple different mods and you see they all have similar codes, then that is probably what you need to change. Phoenix Rising is the one that sticks out most in my mind for having many planets. I think Awakening of the Rebellion does also, but someone else may correct me on that.

i will check out those mods. ------------------------- map infos preview: nearly complet star wars map. star wars history / book / movies locations inclusive trade routs and specials for races. here is the pic i found in the net. http://jobau.chez-alice.fr/Image/Wallpapers/star%20wars%20galaxy.jpg

i checked out if the engine is the problem. it is not. maybe a quad core cpu would make it not so laggy, but it works.

everything ok till now. i fixed a lot of position faults, trade rout mistakes , ect.

the only things left are the map preview ( radar ) where the planets previes expand on the buttons outside the preview window ,

and the game reload and exit crash.

------ fault thinking: i thought about the max memory a game can choose and i found a possibility.

if the game reaches 1.4xx MB at the virtual memory, it collaps. i think. so i only have to patch the sweaw.exe or the foc.exe . that means i have to patch the "use more than 2000 Mb of virtual memory " on enable.

i knew this problem from many old games but i have not seen a patch for star wars jet.
